Releases First Issue of the St. Bernard Recovery Times

The Community Outreach sub-committee of the St. Bernard Parish Citizen's Recovery Committee has released its first newsletter for the residents of St. Bernard Parish. Titled, The St. Bernard Recovery Times, the four-page, full-color newsletter is meant to inform citizens of the rebuilding efforts in the area since Hurricane Katrina swept through on August 29, 2006, virtually destroying every building.

The first issue, which was sponsored by Gulf Coast Bank, includes a copy of the Hazard Removal Form that residents can fill out to have their homes cleaned out by volunteers from Habitat for Humanity and other volunteer organizations.

Gus Riess, President of the St. Bernard Branch of Gulf Coast Bank, stated "Gulf Coast Bank was one of the first businesses to return to St Bernard Parish. With this newsletter, we are hoping to get valuable information to our community members about what is happening in the parish. We wish everyone well and hope you return home soon."

Printed copies of the newsletter will be available at the FEMA Disaster Recovery Center, the St. Bernard Government Complex, and other local businesses. A digital copy can be downloaded from the CRC's website www.StBPCRC.com.
